Zomato acquired Turkey based Mekanist

In a major business deal restaurant discovery company Zomato acquired Turkey based Mekanist. The Mekanist is one of the most popular restaurant discovery search engines in Istanbul and Ankara. After the present acquisition Zomato’s total market presence will rise upto 50000 from 27500. Shortly Mekanist’s traffic and restaurant related content will be shifted to Zomato and Turkish restaurants will be able to access Zomato’s advertising models to target customers. Previously Zomato had established its market presence in diffferent countries like Newzealand, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Italy. The most recent Acquisitions were Cibando (Zomato acquired this Italy based company in December) and Urbanspoon (US based food portal) this month. Zomato acquired the later for $60 million.
Deepender Goyal founder and CEO of Zomato said in his statement that Mekanist has emerged as a successful player in Turkish market. He would be happy to grow as a unit with one of the first and most successful tech startups in Turkey ecosystem.
