Explanation –
It was inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the City’s Park Street Area. Mamta announced that High speed 4G Wi-Fi services will be available in Park Street along with the adjoining areas from today.

2. LC Goyal appointed new Home Secretary.

Explanation –
Mr. LC Goyal is a 1979 batch IAS officer from Kerala cadre. He was the secretary in rural development ministry. Earlier he has served as joint secretary (internal security) in the home ministry from 2002 to 2007. He has been appointed in the post for a tenure of 2 years. He replaced Anil Goswami, who was sacked by the government.

3. The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has bags Golden Peacock award for Corporate Social Responsibility for 2014.

The ONGC was declared the winner in the oil and gas category. Established in 1991, the Golden Peacock awards are regarded as a competitive benchmark of corporate quality and excellence.

4. Anil Baijal Panel to suggest a framework to assess CSR activities.

The CSR norms is applicable to companies with an annual turnover of 1000 crore rupees and more, or a net worth of 500 crore rupees and more, or a net profit of five crore rupees and more.
5. Justice MM Das to head Commission of Inquiry probing Chit Fund Scam.
Explanation –
The state Government of Odisha has appointed Justice Madan Mohan Das as Chairman of the Commission of Inquiry probing chit fund scam in Odisha. He will succeeded Justice Radha Krushna Patra, who died on January 28, 2015.
