1. Beti bachao, beti padhao launched by Prime minister Narendra Modi.

Explanation –
i) In a bid to end gender discrimination against girl child prime minister Narendra Modi launched Beti bachao, beti padhao programme along with Sukanya Samriddhi Account. The aim of these two programmes are to encorage birth and education of girls.
ii) These two schemes were started from Panipat, Haryana. (the state having lowest child sex ratio in the country.)

2. Government launched HRIDAY campaign to preserve and rejuvenate cultural heritage of the country.

Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) Scheme
Explanation –
i) HRIDAY – Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana.
ii) Launched by Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu,initially 12 heritage cities have been identified to be rejuvenated and developed.
iii) These cities are Ajmer, Amritsar, Amravati, Badami, Dwarka, Gaya, Warangal, Puri, Kanchipuram, Mathura, Varanasi and Vellankanni.

3. Ex-Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri authored a book named “Neither a Hawk nor a Dove”.

i) The book provides a detailed analysis of the nature of relations between Pakistan and India, as well as the background and details of the framework on Kashmir.
