1. Jammu & Kashmir got National e-Governance award 2014-15 for best district-level initiative.
Explanation –
i) This project provided platform for a decentralized regime of panchayats in the state by shifting the service delivery from block level to panchayat level.

2. Leela Samson has resigned from the post of Chairperson of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Explanation –
i) The resignation came soon after the controversial film Messenger of God got clearance from Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT).
ii) The reasons cited for the decision in her statement are “Interference, coercion and corruption of panel members and officers of the organisation who are appointed by the ministry.”

3. Mukesh Aghi became the new Presidentof US-India Business Council (USIBC).
Explanation –
i) USIBC is a premier business advocacy organization representing more than 300 of the largest global companies investing in India.
ii) It was formed in 1975 to boost bilateral economic relations by encouraging private sectors of both countries to enhance investment flows into the other.

i) Beagle 2, part of the European Space Agency’s Mars Express mission, had been due to land on Mars on Christmas Day 2003, but went missing on December 19, 2003.
ii) In an announcement made at a news conference at London’s space experts said the tiny Mars lander has been found on the surface of the red planet.
